Fading footprint of Kolhapuri chappals

Kolhapur: The cooperative department has issued a notice to 11 directors of the Kolhapur District Central Cooperative bank (KDCC) asking them why the department should not remove them from their posts.The notices were issued following the recent decision of the state government barring directors from contesting cooperative elections if the institution had earlier been dissolved because of irregularities. The KDCC's board of directors was dissolved in 2007-08 for irregular distribution of loans.Rajendrakumar Darade, divisional joint registrar of the cooperative department, issued the notice. "We have send the notices by post. They may reach by Monday or later. We have given them 15 days from the date of the notice being issued to clarify their stand, failing which we will start...
